Animistic mysticism still prevailing throughout the area, frequently blended with Moslem and the more recently introduced Christian religion. Rituals to call rain, a bountiful harvest, or the quick recovery of the sick are still practiced in the villages. The sincere enthusiasm shown towards visitors is strongly tied to the belief of welcoming good spirits to the village, and the Dayak way holding their society together, as well as perpetuating their ancient traditions. Remarkable varieties of wildlife and vegetation coupled with personal interaction and unique culture of Dayak ethnics will provide an adventure with a truly challenged experience.
For the hardcore adventurers, this island offers many options to satisfy desires; rafting and cruise the beautiful rivers, traverse through traditional villages and jungle, or taking a wildlife safari on the national parks are the highlights of this majestic island.

Day 01: BALIKPAPAN - SAMARINDA
Meet at airport and directly transfer to Samarinda for overnight on hotel. Free at own leisure.

Day 02: SAMARINDA - KOTA BANGUN  MELINTANG LAKE
Drive to Kota Bangun for about 3 hours, and then crossing Semayang Lake to reach Melintang village for overnight on villager floating house at the lake. ( B, L, D)

Day 03: MELINTANG LAKE - MANCONG - MUARA MUNTAI
After breakfast, we will cross the Jempang Lake where species of water bird flyover the area to catch fish and the Ohong River where proboscis monkey, monitor lizard, and other wildlife as it glides by, and then visiting Mancong village to explore the impressive longhouse and Dayak Benuaq life. Next, travel to Tanjung Isuy village for watching traditional Dayak dance in front of their longhouse. Afterwards, proceed to Muara Muntai for overnight on simple lodge. ( B, L, D)

Day 04: MUARA MUNTAI - KOTA BANGUN - SAMARINDA
Proceed to Kota Bangun and directly transfer by our private car to Pampang village for exploring the remain long ear woman and Dayak Kenyah life. Afterwards, return to Samarinda for overnight on hotel. ( B, L, D)

Day 05: SAMARINDA - MUARA KOMAM
After breakfast, we will drive to Muara Komam with some stop over on interesting spots we will meet en route, overnight on simple inn. ( B, L, D)

Day 06: MUARA KOMAM - BARARAWA - LOKSADO.
Proceed to visit a beautiful huge cave and then continue our trip to Bararawa swamp village for exploring water buffaloes and villagers daily lives. Next, we will travel to Nagara village for sighting traditional machete making, metal ware, and pottery home industries. Afterwards, transfer to Loksado for overnight on lodge. ( B, L, D)
For your optional tour, we can stop at Upau village to watch thorny tree climbing and dance attraction of Dayak people.

Day 07: RAINFOREST TREKKING
Proceed to explore jungle and Dayak land crossing shifting cultivation, cinnamon and rubber trees, waterfall, longhouses, hills, hanging and suspended bamboo bridges, rivers, primary and secondary forest. In the afternoon, we will back to the lodge through other trail with different beauties of nature. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on lodge. ( B, L, D)

Day 08: BAMBOO RAFTING - ARANIO
Exploring villagers set the bamboo raft then take an adventure trip of bamboo rafting crossing beautiful landscape of tropical rainforest along the riverside meanwhile our coach will be waiting on the downstream for driving to Aranio sub-district for overnight on lodge. ( B, L, D)

Day 09: ARANIO - RIAM KANAN LAKE - BANJARMASIN
Transfer to Aranio small port for cruising up the Riam Kanan Lake to explore beautiful view of forests, mountainous swamp, birds, boat making, floating fishing ponds, etc. Next, proceed to Banjarmasin for taking an afternoon canal sightseeing. Afterwards, transfer to hotel for overnight. ( B, L, D)

Day 10: FLOATING MARKET - SAMPIT
We will leave to floating market in early morning to explore the unique culture of Banjarese who trade their commodities from boat to boat and return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people unique activities at riverside. Next, we will drive to Sampit with some stop over on interesting spots we will meet en route. Free at your own leisure and overnight on hotel. ( B, L, D) .

Day 11: SAMPIT - PANGKALAN BUN - TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
Transfer to Kumai sub-district for boarding the houseboat to Tanjung Puting National Park. The houseboat is a traditional wooden river boat about 6m by 2m with a roof forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. The boat crew including the boatman, cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the quite river by the houseboat while observing the primates along the riverside. Overnight and dining on houseboat, with facilities; thin mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled " mineral " water, mosquito net, kitchen, and simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar helpful guides and boatmen. ( B, L, D)

Day 12: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we will board the houseboat for cruising upward to Pondok Tanguy to explore the rehabilitation center of the new ex-captive orangutans. Next, return to houseboat for sailing upward the creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. At this station, you will have opportunity to trek into the rainforest with your expert guide and forest rangers to appreciate the flora as well as viewing wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and birds. Lunch will be served on houseboat. In the afternoon, we will visit the feeding station to see rehabilitated orangutans are given additional foods. We will then sail back down the river and overnight on houseboat. ( B, L, D)

Day13: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK - DEPARTURE
Return to Kumai district by boat then transfer to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination. ( B)
